The man has also been charged with resisting arrest, police said.

CHICAGO — A man has been charged with burglary and resisting arrest after police said he broke into a Lake View home Monday. The man was caught while he was still inside the home, police said.

Officers were called to a burglary in progress at about 4:30 a.m. at a home in the 900 block of West Fletcher, police said. A woman in the home told police that a burglar had stolen her iphone and was still inside.

When officers saw the man, he ran out a different door into an officer who pinned him against a bannister, police said. The burglar tried to get away, but other officers helped to place him under arrest.
