mEAT Opens in Lake View

The restaurant focuses on shared dining, and is both paleo-diet and gluten-free friendly.

mEAT, a skewer restaurant located at 3339 N. Halsted St., has officially opened its doors.

The restaurant is owned by Minibar and D.S. Tequila owners John Dalton and Stu Zirin. mEAT will focus on shared dining, where everyone at the table sharing the food, taking what they want with skewers. The restaurant is set to be paleo-diet and gluten-free friendly

"A purely interactive environment where people come to 'mEAT' and socialize is our focus," said a statement by the business on Yelp. "While some restaurants incorporate skewers into their menu, a majority of our menu boasts the concept."

The food is meant to be ordered like sushi, with each dish cut into bite-sized pieces.

Dalton and Zirin will also be opening a cajun restaurant in March, called Crawdaddy's Hot Tails and Hurricanes. The restaurant will specialize in fried chicken, Cajun food, hurricanes and daiquiris.
