Oral Sex Performed On Chicago Uber Driver; Is That Distracted Driving? (VIDEO)

CHICAGO, IL — During a recent, otherwise-normal visit to Chicago, a Boston man did the otherwise-normal thing of using his cellphone to record the anything-but-normal actions of the driver of the ride-sharing service he was using. What did he capture on video that made him describe his July 17 experience as "the most dangerous and inappropriate [U]ber ride ever" in a social media update?

"As we pulled off the female in the front … attempted to open the door and could not even sit straight as the vehicle was in motion," Aner Manuel wrote on Facebook. "She then began to grope [the driver] and grab him. They began to kiss and she began loosening his belt. As we got further and further from my pickup location I had no idea where I was, so I had to stay in the car. She then proceeded to perform oral sex." Manuel — who was in Chicago to check out the city before moving here from Boston later this year — requested the ride using Uber's app at around 2:45 a.m. July 17 in the Wrigleyville neighborhood after a night out, the retail worker told Esquire. When the driver arrived with a female passenger in the front seat, Manuel double-checked to see that he hadn't accidentally requested the ride-sharing service's carpool option (he hadn't) and that the correct vehicle had showed up (it had) before finally assuming the woman must be a family member (she wasn't).

"I asked the driver to drop me off," he wrote. In total, the ride went two miles and lasted only eight minutes, Esquire reports.

Although apologetic about what transpired throughout the ride, the driver didn't do anything to stop it from happening, Manuel told Esquire. In fact, he was brazen enough to ask Manuel to give him a good rating, he told the magazine.

Manuel contacted Uber immediately after the ride, and the service gave him a $10 credit. But Manuel said the company was ignoring him when it came to ensuring him that something like this wouldn't happen again. That's why he posted the video online. In response to the incident, Uber told Esquire that the company doesn't tolerate the driver's actions and that the driver's access to the service has been removed.
