Year’s Best Meteor Shower

Hit your rooftop patio Monday and Tuesday! New research by NASA has just identified the most magical nights of all. "We have found that one meteor shower produces more fireballs than any other," said Bill Cooke of NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office. "It's the Perseid meteor shower, which peaks on Aug. 12 and 13."

Noodles for a Good Cause

This Thursday, 25 percent of all sales at the Noodles & Co. at 3419 N. Southport will go toward funding Lake View’s new School Street Park. Use your noodle—eating delicious mac ‘n cheese for a good cause is a no brainer.

South East Lake View Meeting

Do you live in the area bounded by Diversey, Halsted, Belmont, and the lake? Congratulations! You’re a South East Lake View Neighbor. Head to Second Unitarian Church, 656 W. Barry St. Monday night at 7 p.m. to hear the latest on what’s happening in your backyard.

 

CAPS Meetings

Two police beats in Lake View are meeting Wednesday evening to talk with officers about neighborhood crime and safety issues. Starting at 7 p.m., the meeting will be held at the Inn at Lincoln Park at 601 W. Diversey Pkwy. The specific beats meeting are 1934 and 1935, which encompasses Diversey to Belmont and Halsted to Lake Shore Drive.
