Poke Poke Hawaiian Restaurant Opens In Lake View

The new restaurant held its second grand opening in March.

CHICAGO, IL — A new Hawaiian restaurant has opened on Chicago's North Side at 802 West Belmont. Poke Poké held its second grand opening in Lake View on March 24. The restaurant already has two locations in the Loop, but owners said they chose Lake View for its newest spot because of the neighborhood's "diversity and innovation."

Poke Poké serves a variety of innovative salads, seafood, sushi and of course the Hawaiian dish Poké, made with sushi-grade fish and fresh ingredients.

Poke Poké was started by a group of four partners: a restaurateur, a designer, a real estate agent and an accountant; all of whom knew Chicago well and envisioned a restaurant that would constantly create new, innovative dishes, owners said.

"Poké (rhymes with 'okay') is a beloved Hawaiian dish with pan-asian roots," restaurant owners explain on their website. "Over the years, our sushi-crazed team fell in love with poké, and after enjoying, studying and experimenting with variations from all over the world, our team is excited to bring our vision of poké to Chicago."

Poke Poké opened its first location at 118 South Wabash in the Loop last July, and opened a second location at 105 West Madison earlier this year.
