Sausage Party: Music and Local Bites Revealed for SausageFest

The annual event in the shadow of Wrigley Field is drawing near. See which artists organizers chose to tear up the stage in June, as well as which local businesses are supplying the sausage.

Details behind the area's largest festival celebrating sausage are hot off the press, with organizers revealing both the music lineup and what local businesses are supplying the bites.

Scheduled for June 15-16, SausageFest is chock full of live music, art and, of course, sausage. The event is held in the shadow of Wrigley Field on Sheffield Avenue—between Addison Street and Waveland Avenue—and organizers say they’re adding even more meat to this year’s event.

And enjoying sausage and live music in Wrigleyville is all for a good cause. While in previous years the event helped raise money for prostate cancer, this year proceeds will go to both the Lake View Citizens’ Council and the Wounded Warrior Project.

Organizers are hoping to snag even more donations through this year’s contest to fight for the title, “Sausage King of Chicago.” The 10 individuals with the most pledges to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project will be personally invited to the festival, followed by the official crowning at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to Special Events Management CEO Hank Zemola, this year’s SausageFest will also include a children’s festival on Saturday, along with a car show on Sunday. The event runs both days from noon to 10 p.m.
