Small Storefront, Big Style: Sister Saviour Opens on Broadway (PHOTOS)
The new retailer is showcasing their designs in one of Lake View's smallest storefronts, their first one after selling online for three years.
What happens when a design team in New York meets a manufacturer in Los Angeles? A new storefront in Chicago.
Now open at 3319 N. Broadway, Sister Saviour is Lake View’s newest clothing boutique. The company sells designer clothing for women ranging anywhere between $29-$100, but the new Chicago store isn’t any indication of infancy.
Designers behind Sister Saviour has been selling their garments online for three years now, meaning the storefront needed plenty of storage to hold a mess of online inventory.
Formerly Treats Frozen Desserts, the storefront on North Broadway was drastically altered to house a small showroom in front with enough storage in the back for online orders.
But store manager Henry Chang says since opening, both the Lake View and online community has reacted in a positive way.
“Yeah, it’s little,” Chang laughed. “…We’ve gotten a good response from people, (and since opening), it’s driven a lot of online traffic, too.”
And according to the company’s website, the clothes are designed by “a bunch of fashion nerds, sewing room orphans and runway queens going after our passion for fashion by collaborating in the heart of Manhattan's garment district.”
The team’s designs are also detailed on their website, selling tops, bottoms, dresses and outerwear. The estimated 100-squre-foot space in Lake View carries a bit of each.
