Southport Starbucks Now Open
After plenty of rumors, plenty of drama and a long wait, Lake View’s newest Starbucks is officially opening Thursday morning at 3400 N. Southport Ave. It’s taking over three former storefronts to create one giant café next to Southport’s Brown Line station. Stay tuned into Patch for a full photo gallery soon.

CAPS Meetings Tonight
Do you live between Diversey Parkway and Belmont Avenue, and between Halsted Street and Racine Avenue? Tonight your officers are willing to talk about crime, concerns and anything police related in your beat. They’re meeting with residents tonight at 7 p.m. at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, sitting at 836 W. Wellington Ave.

Commercial Being Filmed on Southport
Camera crews will be filming a Blue Cross and Blue Shield commercial in Lake View Thursday, Ald. Tom Tunney(44th) announced. Minneapolis-based film production company Twist Films will set up at 3510 N. Southport Ave. across the street from Sheil Park. That means parking restrictions; click here to find out where.
Low Line Market
Need any gluten-free goods, artisan breads, hand-made cheeses or even your kitchen knives sharpened? Swing by Lake View's Low Line Market. Every Thursday, 12 vendors gather beneath the Southport Avenue “El” tracks on the west side of the street to sell not only fresh produce, but mostly locally made artisan foods and goods.
Running from 4-8 p.m., the Low Line Market is Lake View’s only weeknight agricultural market. Here are the vendors.
