Southport TCF Bank to Close
Thirty-seven branches of TCF Banks within Jewel-Oscos will close in early 2014.
The Southport TCF Bank, located inside the Jewel-Osco grocery store at 3630 N. Southport Ave., is among the 37 branches closing by the end of March.
The Minnesota-based company will still have 118 in-store Jewel branches after the closings. Around 200 people work in 37 branches that will be closed, but a TC spokesperson told Chicago Business that the bank is hoping to keep the employees on at nearby branches.
TCF recently announced that it will be expanding its Chicago ATM network, with 52 machines in CTA stations across town, according to Chicago Business.
