Summer on Southport Festival to Shine Down in June

The annual celebration on Southport Avenue is drawing near, bringing the street festival craze to one of the most popular streets in Lake View.

Street festival season in Chicago is in full swing, and soon the music, food and fun will be shining down on Southport.

The annual Summer on Southport festival is back, bringing two stages to the popular business corridor, along with food, artisan vendors and activities. Slated to take over the 3700 block of Southport Avenue, the 2-day event will run June 29-30 from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.

“Southport is one of the city’s mecca shopping/nightlife districts and includes beautifully maintained tree-lined streets, with rows of lovely houses in all manner of architectural styles,” wrote organizer Star Events in a statement. “Local artisans will showcase their wares and local restaurants and eateries will offer your favorite summer food.”
