Witts on Lincoln Reopens, Aims for ‘Neighborhood Feel’
The bar and restaurant closed in February, but the new owner says he's making some changes to breathe new life into the local hot spot.

Although the closing bell rang in February, the story’s not over for Lake View bar and restaurant Witts.
New owner Jim Burke bought the closed restaurant at 2913 N. Lincoln Ave. a month and a half ago with plans to reopen as a neighborhood joint akin to “Cheers,” DNAinfo Chicago reports. He officially opened the doors roughly two weeks ago.
New features include a revamped kitchen, LED lights shining over the patio and a new menu, DNAinfo writes. With new, hearty portions, Burke said he wants people to think of Witts as a good value.

That’s in addition to the huge selection of beer to enjoy along with new dishes.
“Our diverse selection of nearly 100 craft, local, domestic, & imported beers complement any dish, and are perfect to kick back and catch the latest game,” Witts’ website reads. “A large variety of wines & liquor are also available.”

Witts shuttered on February 18, papering its windows and announcing on its website to keep an eye out for a new concept coming to the space.
"I want to get that neighborhood feel," Burke told DNAinfo.
The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., Fridays from noon to 2 a.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to midnight. Those interested can check out Witts new menu on its website.
