Wrigley Field Earmarked To Host Bowl Game In 2020: Report

Wrigley Field and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina are "near locks" to be hosts, a college football insider said.

CHICAGO, IL — Three new bowl games will likely be added to the 2020 season, and there's a good chance one of those games will be hosted at Wrigley Field, according to college football insider Brett McMurphy. Northwestern will host Wisconsin on Nov. 7, 2020, but he said discussions are in the final stages for Wrigley to host a bowl game too, based on recommendations by the NCAA's competition committee.

The recommendations would bring the total number of bowls to 43, allowing around 65 percent of the 130 FBS schools to play in the postseason, McMurphy said.

Wrigley Field and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina are in "near locks" to be hosts, he said.
