Wrigleyville Bar Angers Many With Pearl Harbor Message

Murphy's Bleachers posted a sign on Saturday, the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, that offended many people.

Wrigleyville bar Murphy's Bleachers is under fire after posting a controversial message on its marquee Saturday, the 72nd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. 

"Remember Pearl Harbor With Bombs and Kamikazes," the marquee read. 

By 3:30 p.m., the bar changed the sign to "Remember Pearl Harbor". Later that day, it was changed again to "We sincerely apologize," according to DNAInfo

Murphy's Bleachers tweeted later on Saturday, "This awful marquee has been taken down. We apologize for the action of our staff to our whole country." 

A short while after, the bar posted an apology on Facebook

"We couldn't be more embarrassed and ashamed by the actions of our staff this morning," the Facebook post read. "The sign has been removed and we cannot start apologizing enough for the thoughtless disregard for decency."
