Lake Zurich’s popular Alpine Fest kicks off on Friday in Lion Fred Blau Park.
The annual event started in 1942 and has only grown larger over the years. The entertainment starts at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with the Fire Fighters Water Fight  and continues with live music from Friction from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Event goers will also enjoy food, carnival rides and other games and fun through Sunday, July 21.Â
