Cruise Night Comes to Downtown Lake Zurich

Classic cars will line Main Street, starting in June.

Cruise Nights are coming to downtown Lake Zurich, starting the first Wednesday in June and continuing the first Wednesdays of the month through September.

The Cruise Nights are being organized by Puyo “PJ” Zizich of Fuzzy Dice Productions, who held cruise night events along Route 12 in Lake Zurich last year. A local realtor, Zizich's foray into organizing cruise nights for Lake Zurich led him to being the organizer for six different cruise nights in the suburbs.

"I started doing it in Lake Zurich just for the fun of it," he said.

"The reason we're moving to downtown is we want to build up the downtown. It's a cute little village with lots of little restaurants. There's a lot to offer and people coming in from out of the area don't know about our downtown," Zizich said.

Cruise Nights will include '50s, '60s and '70s music, raffle prizes, trivia questions, and fun for the family. The event will be held on Main Street, between Old Rand Road and Lions Drive. Entrance to the event is from Church Street. The event starts at 6 p.m., but classic cars can start arriving after 5 p.m.

Zizich said the first Wednesday of the month was chosen to build off the success of Mundelein and Libertyville cruise nights, which are held the second and third Wednesdays of the month.

Zizich said he was thankful to the Lake Zurich Lions for allowing the use of their parking lot, the village, and the Lake Zurich Explorers who will patrol the events.

In consideration of the classic cars, bicycles and skateboards are not allowed at the event.
