Hawthorn Woods cancels upcoming Bark in the Park event

The 2015 Hawthorn Woods Bark in the Park event scheduled for Saturday, April 25th from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Community Park has been cancelled. This decision was made based upon recent recommendations to take preventative measures and cancel large dog gatherings in order prevent the spread of the canine influenza virus. “With the recent outbreak and continuing spread of the infection in the region, we believe it is in the best interest of the health and well-being of our canine friends in the community to cancel the event,” stated Brian J. Sullivan, Director of Parks and Recreation. This year was to be the second year of the event. Hawthorn Woods plans on continuing this annual event in 2016.
