Joanie’s Closet Organizes School Supply Drive

Back to school is right around the corner and Joanie’s Closet wants to help Lake Zurich School District 95 families with a school supply drive.

Joanie’s Closet, run by the Lake Zurich School District 95 Educational Foundation, was organized at May Whitney Elementary School in memory of Joanie Bednarz to help families in need, according to its website.

One of the ways Joanie’s Closet helps is by providing school supplies. It also provides snacks for school nurses to give to children with an empty stomach, clothing, groceries, household necessities and gas cards, the site states.

Joanie’s Closet is holding a school supplies drive from July 29 to Aug. 12. Collections bins will be in the Ela Public Library, 275 Mohawk Trail; the Ela Community/Senior Center, 380 Surryse Road; Curves, 41 S Rand Road and New Age Transportation, 1881 Rose Road.

The generosity and support of the community are greatly appreciated. Since supply lists are very specific, the following items are most needed:
