Lake County Sheriff's Deputies Respond to Bomb Threat at Lake Zurich Day Camp
A bomb squad was called Tuesday to a local day camp. During the school year, the camp serves as a daycare facility.

Lake County Sheriff's Office deputies responded Tuesday to a local day camp where an employee received a bomb threat over the phone.
A staff member from JCC Apachi Day Camp, 23280 North Old McHenry Road in unincorporated Lake Zurich, called 911 around 10:30 a.m., according to a sheriff's office news release. The year-round facility serves as a daycare during the academic year.
"Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded and arrived at the day camp quickly," the release said. "The building and property were systematically searched and nothing suspicious was located."

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Explosives Detection Canine and his handler, along with two other explosive canine teams conducted a secondary search. All students and staff members were taken offsite and no injuries were reported.
This threat remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
