Lake Zurich approves plan for apartments downtown

Developer changed plans to accommodate village concerns

The Lake Zurich Village board trustees approved a compromise plan, which would allow developer Foxford Communities to build 48 apartment units downtown, according to the Daily Herald. The development is planned for the area northwest of the intersection Old Rand Road and Main Street.

Under the plan, Foxford Communities will pay $270,000 for the site and invest $350,000 in a small park and streetscape improvements. The village will cover the cost of burying above-ground utilities at the location to be developed.

Foxford Communities originally wanted to build an additional five single-family townhouses at the same location, but the company changed plans to reduce the village's concerns over parking.
