Lake Zurich Area Parents to Make Snowflakes to Decorate Sandy Hook Elementary.
First snowflake making event will be held from 1-4 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Concorde Banquets.
Spencer Loomis parents Angie Schroedel and Lora Rampino are spearheading a local effort to make snowflakes that will decorate the halls at Sandy Hook Elementary School when the children of the Newtown tragedy return to school.
A Connecticut PTO is collecting the snowflakes and will decorate Sandy Hook.
Schroedel said perhaps it will help heal these children and the adults by creating a beautiful and inviting environment.

“I can’t even imagine what it must be like for these families,” Schroedel said.
“Our hope is to ease the anxiety, even a small fraction, that the student, the staff, and the parents will be feeling. Especially the parents as they release their children to the care of the school again. All of us, as parents, cannot imagine the horror all those parents are feeling,” she said.
