Lake Zurich Firefighters Battle Early Morning Garage Fire

Lake Zurich firefighters got an early morning call Friday for a building on fire in unincorporated Lake Zurich.

Firefighters were dispatched to 23772 S. Lakewood Lane in the Echo Lake subdivision at 4:32 a.m. and found a garage fully engulfed, Lake Zurich Fire Deputy Chief Donald Golubski said.

The area does not have fire hydrants so LZFD called out for assistance from neighboring fire departments, going to a second alert, Golubski said.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage, he said. No injuries were reported.

The fire caused some traffic delays, according to news reports.
