LZ Auctions Off Seized Vehicles, One Village

Online auction runs through October 4.

If you are looking for a car, Lake Zurich may have a deal for you.

The village is auctioning off three vehicles the police department seized and a village owned truck. Obenauf Auction Service Inc. is handing the online auction, which continues through October 4.

Lake Zurich is selling the following vehicles:

  • 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse
  • 1994 Nissan Pathfinder
  • 1993 Ford Ranger
  • 1999 Chevrolet Suburban K2500

Seized vehicles are sold “as is, how is and where is” and the general condition is not known. "The entire risk as to the quality, authenticity and condition rests with the buyer," the site states.

However, potential buyers can inspect the vehicles in person at the Village of Lake Zurich Municipal Public Works Facility, 505 Telser Road. Appointments can be made by calling 847-540-1696, ext. 8017.

As of Wednesday evening, the highest bid for the Suburban was $2,100 while the Nissan Pathfinder had a bid of $110.  There is a 10 percent buyer’s fee and sales tax is added to all purchases.
