St. Patrick's Day Crackdown Results in 4 Drunk Driving Arrests
Lake Zurich Police Department announces St. Patrick's Day Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Crackdown results.

Lake Zurich Poilce Department made four drunk-driving arrests and one other significant arrests during the recent St. Patrick’s Day crackdown,” said Chief Patrick M. Finlon . All four of the arrests were made after midnight. In addition, 34 seat belt citations were written – 11 of which occurred during nighttime hours.

Lake Zurich joined forces with other state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the Illinois St. Patrick’s Day campaign. The campaign featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities which included a strategic media campaign as well as additional enforcement activity.
Extra emphasis was given to late-night hours, as statistics show the highest number of motorists drink and drive and the fewest motorists buckle up during this time of day.

This law enforcement crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety grants through IDOT’s Division of Traffic Safety and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
