Still Confused by the Affordable Care Act?

The Affordable Care Act officially launched Tuesday, but it may be still be confusing for some.

The Commonwealth Fund Health Insurance Marketplace Survey found only “two of five adults are aware of the marketplaces or of potential financial help that may be available to them to pay for plans purchased though the marketplaces.”

Of those who may be eligible, “three of five adults said they were likely to take advantage of them,” the study found.

Who’s eligible and what the Affordable Care Act involves is the topic of a free presentation at Ela Area Public Library.

Giovanni Gomez, a member of Governor Pat Quinn's Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace Team, will provide facts about the new law and how it affects all Illinois residents during a presentation at 6 p.m. Monday, October 7 at the library, 275 Mohawk Trail, Lake Zurich.
