Take a Stand Readies for Second Annual Drug Awareness Walk

Take a Stand, a Lake Zurich based group trying to raise awareness of illicit drugs and substance abuse, will once again hold a Drug Awareness Walk.

The walk is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27 at Paulus Park, 200 S. Rand Road.

“Be a part of something big, join us in creating awareness,” Take a Stand’s Facebook page states.

Last year, Take a Stand’s first walk drew 250 people.

“We’d like to double that this year; who’s coming?” the Facebook page states.

This year’s format will be similar to last year’s with four guest speakers, a balloon release, a 5K walk, and a multitude of resources for those individuals that are interested in learning more about the current drug epidemic and how to help, the group stated.
