This Week in Lake Zurich: Meeting on Cedar Creek Flooding

Village needs input on flooding.

Residents are asked to provide input on Cedar Creek flooding at a special stakeholders meeting for a Hazardous Mitigation Grant Program Lake Zurich is pursuing.

The meeting will be held tonight, Monday, Sept. 9 at Lake Zurich Village Hall, 70 E. Main St.

Lake Zurich is looking to get information on the nature and history of flooding in the subdivision, including the area of Thistle Lane, Stone Avenue, Bristol Trail Road and Stanton Court.

The areas were ravaged by floodwaters during a June rainstorm. Lake Zurich is conducting a study into the flooding as well as pursuing the federal grant.

Later in the week, Lake Zurich will shift gears and host its first Rock the Block in downtown from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14.
