Two Dogs Declared Dangerous Following Attack in Lake Zurich
So far this year, four total dogs have been declared dangerous in Lake County.

Two dogs described as pit bulls have been declared dangerous by Lake County animal control officials after the dogs attacked a German Shepherd mix out walking with its owner in Lake Zurich in May, the Daily Herald reports. So far this year, there have been a total of four dogs declared dangerous in Lake County this year, with the other dangerous dogs residing in unincorporated area near Gurnee and in Round Lake.
The latest attack occurred when the two pit bulls escaped from a fenced-in yard Windemere Lane in Lake Zurich at 10:41 a.m. on May 21, according to the Daily Herald. A woman told police the dogs attacked her pet and her husband while they were out walking near Old Mill Grove Road and Windemere Lane.
The Lake County Health Department’s Animal Care and Control program have ordered the owners of the dangerous dogs to leash and muzzle the dogs while in public, microchip the animals and have been fined, the newspaper reports.
