Woman Attacks Boyfriend With Machete: Police
Bophanary Om, 39, faces domestic battery charges following the Sunday incident at a home in Deer Park.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 39-year-old woman faces domestic battery charges after she hit her boyfriend over the head with a machete, authorities said. Bophanary Om, 39, is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $30,000 bail after being charged with aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon ad two counts of domestic battery, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies were called to a residence on West Lake Cook Road in Deer Park at about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday for a report of a domestic battery in progress, according to the press release. A preliminary investigation shows Om got mad at her boyfriend for urinating in the bed and then retrieved a machete, hitting him over the head with it.
The boyfriend suffered a serious head wound and was taken to an area hospital where he is expected to recover, authorities said.

Om is next due in court on Aug. 25.
