Former White Sox Slugger Sells Libertyville Mansion For $1.36M

Frank Thomas and wife, Megan, first bought the home in 2007. It sold for $400,000 less than what they originally paid for it.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL —Retired White Sox Hall of Famer Frank Thomas has sold his Libertyville home for $1.36 million. The stunning 5,800-square-foot mansion was sold on Nov. 6 for $400,000 less than what Frank Thomas and his wife, Megan, paid for it in 2007, according to Lake County Assessor's Office records.

The home, which was built in 2006, has six bedrooms and six full bathrooms and one half-bathroom as well as an impressive, two-story foyer. Other features include a huge family room with a fireplace and wet bar and a primary suite with a fireplace and a bathroom that has a stand alone tub steam shower and a custom vanity with dual sinks.

The gourmet kitchen has luxury appliances, a huge island and breakfast bar, a butler pantry with a wine fridge and herringbone wood counters. A finished basement has ample entertaining space, a home theater, bar, exercise studio and steam room, a rec room and guest suite.

There is a fire pit and built-in trampoline in the home's yard.

In 2003, the former White Sox slugger sold his 44-room Oak Brook mansion for $7.95 million—a DuPage County sales record, according to the Chicago Tribune. This past May, Frank and Megan Thomas bought a 17,826-square-foot home in North Barrington for $1.6 million.
