Barrelhouse Flat To Close In Lincoln Park

CHICAGO — After nearly eight years in Lincoln Park, Barrelhouse Flat is closing its doors. The cocktail lounge, at 2624 N. Lincoln Ave., will hold its last call June 2, its owners announced.

"We are immensely proud of what our little cocktail bar has achieved over the past eight years, and will always be grateful to those who have played a role in cultivating an incredible community that has surrounded and supported us every step of the way," the bar's owners posted on Facebook.

"Until then, grab a seat at the bar and help send us off the only way we can imagine - by letting us serve you a drink one last time."

The owners didn't provide a reason for the closure.

The nearby Gamekeepers Tavern & Grill closed its doors last week after 35 years in the neighborhood. Its owners said rising taxes and rental rates have become too high in Lincoln Park.
