Bleeding Heart Bakery Owner Passes Away
Money is currently be raised to help out Vinny Garcia's wife and three children.

Vinny Garcia, owner of the now closed Bleeding Heart Bakery, passed away earlier this month from complications from leukemia, according to a post by Chicago Eater. Garcia and his wife Michelle ran Bleeding Heart Bakery at 1351 W. Belmont for over a decade before it was closed in August of 2012.
According to the Eater article, the Garcias had plans to open a new bakery called Lucha Dulce in Pilsen, although that project has now been shelved.
Garcia is survived by Michelle and his three children.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up for the family. It was originally created to raise money for Garcia's treatment, although it is now accepting money to help his family. The goal of the page is to raise $50,000. At the time of publication, they have raised $29,694.
"Because of the support I have received here, from all of you, I have been able to hire a nanny, put a down payment on my house so we can finally know we have a real home (hopefully), and start to make a dent in this pile of bills, though it is a small dent," Michelle wrote on the Go Fund Me Page. "I will be eternally grateful to each of you. I know there are many other people in need, but you chose my family. Thank you so very much."
