Person Struck, Killed By Blue Line Train At Montrose

Major delays were reported on Chicago's Northwest Side after a person was fatally struck on the tracks, authorities said.

CHICAGO — A man was struck and killed by a Blue Line train Monday afternoon on Chicago's Northwest Side, police said. Service was suspended between Harlem and Addison but has since resumed, CTA officials said.

A man jumped in front of a train just before 1 p.m., police said. He was later pronounced dead.

A shuttle bus was available between Harlem (O'Hare) and Addison while service was halted.

Blue Line trains were standing by at Montrose while crews worked to restore service. Officials recommended using the #78 Montrose Bus and #56 Milwaukee bus as an alternative.
