Lincoln Park's remarkable Charlie Trotter’s locale—one of the world’s most renowned restaurants—recently hit the market.

It's comprised of two magnificent, pristine brownstones in heart of the neighborhood at 814-816 W. Armitage Ave. The space includes an expansive kitchen with $1 million worth of state-of-the-art kitchen equipment.

"(It has) minimal, elegant, understated interiors in Viennese Biedermeier style finish," the MLS listing said.

The 816 space features the former restaurant and the 814 portion includes the kitchen, office and work space, outdoor deck and patio and a two-car garage. The buildings are minimally connected and have beautiful façades, agents say.

Trotter announced plans last year to shutter the Armitage eatery. It closed officially in August 2012 after 25 years in business.

The 53-year-old told the Sun-Times Media in February that the closure was merely a "sabbatical" that will allow him to travel the world with his wife and head back to school to pursue a master's degree in philosophy and political theory.

“This is our chance to say let’s end this on a great note of 25 years,” he said to reporters. “A quarter century of running a restaurant — that’s a long time to do one thing.”
