Gas Leak Shuts Down Inner Lake Shore Drive
The Chicago Fire Department said a "large" gas leak shut down Inner Lake Shore Drive in both directions.
CHICAGO, IL — Inner Lake Shore Drive has been shut down in both directions after a gas leak in the Near North Side, according to the Chicago Fire Department. Firefighters were called to the scene near Walton Place and Lake Shore Drive at the border of the Gold Coast and Streeterville neighborhoods, fire officials said.
Officials said the leak was contained to one building in the 900 block of North Lake Shore Drive just before 11:30 a.m. Repairs were underway at the site, officials said.
