Historic Mansion Disguised as Daycare Returns to Market for $1.6M

The Kedzie Boulevard mansion previously housed The Chicago Society.

The 7,487 square-foot building on Kedzie Boulevard has served as a child care facility for some time, and it has the tiny chairs and cheerful borders to prove it, but the historic three-story structure was once a single-family mansion.

The house at 2222 North Kedzie Blvd. has also been the home of The Chicago Society, an affiliate of the Polish National Alliance, according to Curbed Chicago. Back then, the mansion housed a lounge bar, meeting hall, polynesian room and something called a “friendship foyer.

The property is being sold as is, and a buyer could choose to keep it as a daycare, renovate it as a multi-unit building or maybe even restore some of its historic, former glory.
