Jimmy Butler Has a Giant Boom-Box Aquarium

The Chicago Bulls star teamed with Animal Planet to add a 6,000 pound aquarium to his new River North mansion.

Professional basketball players are competitive. On the court and off.

Kobe Bryant has a shark tank inside his California home, John Wall added a “Sharknado” tank in his, Kenyon Martin once owned a pecan orchard and of course, Michael Jordan has everything in his Highland Park mansion.

But even the greatest Chicago Bull of all-time can’t say he has anything like the newest feature of a young Bull whose star is consistently growing.

Twenty-five-year-old Jimmy Butler recently teamed up with the crew from Animal Planet’s “Tanked” to install a boom-box shaped aquarium inside his River North mansion, Curbed Chicago reports.

The aquarium is 9 feet tall, weighs 6,000 pounds and will contain 50 fish (to signify the Bulls’ 50th anniversary). A wireless speaker system will also be installed so the fish can listen to Butler’s favorite music.

Butler paid $4.3 million for the 10,000-square-foot mansion in September.

And why not. As the crew at CSN Chicago pointed out, when you are making $95 million over five years, you can afford to make these decisions.
