Kuma's Burger Bar Closes Lincoln Park/Lake View Location

The heavy metal-themed bar served its last meal Thursday.

CHICAGO, IL — Kuma's Too, which sits on the border of Lincoln Park and Lake View, has officially closed its doors. The bar opened in 2013 as the sister location of Kuma's Corner in Avondale. The new sibling had an address that suited its heavy metal theme: 666 W. Diversey Parkway.

Kuma's Too was known for its metal and punk music, burgers named after bands and craft beer.

"To all of our loyal customers in Lakeview and our bad ass staff through the years, thanks for the memories!" Kuma's Too posted on Facebook. "The doors of Kuma’s Too are now closed. Come hang out with us at one of our other locations!"

Dozens of people expressed their frustration with the closure on Facebook (with lots of cussing, in true heavy metal fashion), asking why the North Side bar shut its doors.

"I will not accept this," one Facebook fan wrote.

"This is the worst day ever," another wrote.

Ron Cain, founder Mike Cain's brother, has not responded to requests for comment about why Kuma's Too shut its doors.

The Kuma's post encouraged fans to head to their Avondale, West Loop, Schaumburg and Indianapolis locations.
