Lincoln Park High School Celebrates First Homecoming Parade

Complete with the school's marching band, the football team, and pom poms.

CHICAGO, IL -- Few sights are more American than a homecoming parade making its way down a town's central street, complete with instruments proudly blaring, energetic cheerleaders, and the occasional unhappy teen on the sidelines who hates all of it. And a local school has decided it doesn't want to miss out on that tradition: Lincoln Park High School held its first homecoming parade Thursday afternoon on North Orchard Street.

Several hundred students were a part of the parade, including cheerleaders, the school's marching band, and the Lions football team. The parade went along Orchard to Larrabee Street, then to Sheffield and Dickens, and back to the school.
