Lincoln Park, Lake View Street Paving Update
Five street paving projects in the neighborhoods have been completed, and at least seven are underway, the city said.
CHICAGO, IL — Many streets on the North Side have been dug up for new sewer repairs, water mains, natural gas repairs, new fiber-optic lines and private construction over the past few months. Ald. Michele Smith (43rd) said that the infrastructure improvements are "critically needed," but have had a "severe impact" on the streets.
Smith provided the following street paving update:
- Astor Street from Burton to North Avenue - in process
- Belden from Cleveland to Geneva Terrace - in process
- Burling Street from Armitage to Dickens - completed
- Cambridge from Belden to Fullerton - in process
- Dickens from Halsted to Burling - completed
- Dickens from Howe to Lincoln Avenue - completed
- Geneva Terrace from Webster to Grant - in process
- Halsted from North Avenue to Dickens - in process
- Hudson from Menonomee to Armitage - completed
- Schiller from Astor to State Parkway - in process
- Willow from Racine to Larrabee - completed
- Wrightwood from Racine to Halsted - in process
The following streets are slated to be repaved this season:

- Clark from Armitage to Diversey - after completion of water project
- Fullerton from Clark to Orchard - after completion of water project
Mayor Rahm Emanuel said the city's goal is to pave 275 miles of Chicago streets before the end of the 2018 construction season.
