Man Charged With Armed Robberies In Lincoln Park, Old Town

A North Side man is accused of robbing businesses at gunpoint, police said.

CHICAGO — A North Side man is accused of robbing businesses at gunpoint in Lincoln Park and Old Town, police said. Latwaun Burns, 41, of the Old Town neighborhood, has been charged with three felony counts of armed robbery and three felony counts of aggravated robbery while indicating a firearm, according to police. On Wednesday he was ordered held without bail.

Police said Burns pulled out a gun and robbed a business in the 1600 block of North LaSalle Drive at about 1:50 a.m. on May 16. He then robbed another business in the 100 block of West Division on May 18, police said.

Burns was arrested on Tuesday. He's scheduled to appear in court on May 28.
