CHICAGO, IL — Across the United States, people will be celebrating Memorial Day on Monday, a national holiday to honor those who died in active military service.

Schools: No classes for Chicago Public Schools.
City Government: City Hall and city offices will be closed. County, state and federal government offices will be closed, too.

Chicago Public Library: All branches will be closed.
Chicago Park District: Although the district's offices will be closed, most parks will be open but with reduced holiday hours. City beaches will be open, as well as the conservatories in Garfield Park and Lincoln Park. Go to the district's website for more information.
Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.
Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed. Call ahead to be sure.
CTA and Metra: Trains and buses for the transportation agencies will be running on normal Monday schedules.
