PAWS Waiving Adoption Fees This Weekend As Shelter At Capacity
Adoption fees for several dogs and cats will be waived 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sunday at Lincoln Park location.

CHICAGO, IL — PAWS Chicago is at capacity, and the help of area animal-lovers is needed. Chicago Tribune reported the city's largest no-kill shelter is sending a message to the public that it needs people to foster or adopt the dogs and cats being housed there in order to free up space. To get animals into loving homes, PAWS said in a Facebook post they are waiving adoption fees this weekend for dogs and cats who've been at the shelter the longest. The promotion will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the shelter's Lincoln Park Adoption Center, 1997 N. Clybourn Ave.
Without the promotion, adult dogs 7 months and older usually cost $300, as cats range from $25 to $100, so now is a good time to adopt, as fees are waived for the animals with a "Summer Lovin" label.
PAWS urges people to help with short-term foster placements for animals that need to recover from infections or other medical conditions.
