Polar Plunge In Lincoln Park: $1M Raised For Special Olympics
Organizers are seeking more brave people to raise funds for the Polar Plunge on Sunday, March 3.

CHICAGO — The 19th Annual Chicago Polar Plunge is just around the corner and teams have already raised more than $1 million for Special Olympics Chicago athletes. The event will be held at North Avenue Beach on Sunday, March 3.
Each participant is asked to raise $200 ($100 for people under 18). So far, Chicago's top two teams — the ComEd Coolers and PPM America & Jackson — have raised more than $140,000 each.

Theater on the Lake, which is a short walk from the beach, will host an after-party for the event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All plungers at the party will receive a complimentary beer/wine/soda upon arriving, and will be entered into a draw to win a $100 gift card to The Lakefront Restaurant. Participants will also be entered into a raffle to win a hot shower in the bridal shower (the winning ticket will be drawn at 2 p.m.) Food will be available for purchase.
