Red Panda Cubs at Lincoln Park Zoo Named Waveland and Sheffield

They will join their siblings, Clark and Addison, at the Kovler Lion House.

CHICAGO, IL - Lincoln Park Zoo now has four red panda cubs, and all are named after streets that surround Wrigley Field.

The zoo’s two newest babies, both born in June, were named Sheffield and Waveland this week, ABC-7-Chicago reports. Sheffield is a boy and Waveland a girl. They can be found at the Kovler Lion House with their parents, Leafa and Phoenix.

The names of the two babies came from Sharon Zackfia, a generous zoo donor and die hard Cubs fan. Waveland and Sheffield now join their brother and sister, Clark and Addison, as red pandas named after streets in Wrigleyville.
