Tampa is Better Hockey City Than Chicago, Study Shows
WalletHub study based on team performance, ticket prices and fan engagement snubs 'Hawkeytown.'

Chicago is the ninth best city for Hockey in the United States. Tampa is better at No. 4.
That’s according to a recent WalletHub study, which ranked U.S. cities on data from ticket prices, stadium accessibility and performance level of each city’s teams. See the full study here.
The atmosphere at the game, electricity during National Anthem and having the best logo in pro sports weren’t criteria, unfortunately for Chicago fans.

Chicago’s “team rank and performance” was 3rd overall. The city ranked 25th for “costs and fan engagement.”

That’s right. The city with a team that has a hold on one of the best sports cities in the world and a fanbase that follows the team just about anywhere, is ranked 25th in fan engagement. Tampa was 4th.

The top ten, in order, were: Pittsburgh, Chestnut Hill, MA, St. Louis, Tampa, Boston, St. Paul, Detroit, Denver, Chicago and Anaheim.
