Woman Attacked, Sexually Abused; Suspect at Large

The man entered an 18-year-old woman's apartment building, attacked her, and then sexually abused her before fleeing.

Officers are searching for a man who entered an 18-year-old woman’s Lincoln Park apartment, attacked her, and then fondled her before fleeing, according to the Chicago Police Department

Police released a community alert Tuesday morning notifying residents about the criminal sexual abuse on the 1000 block of West Armitage Avenue near the Armitage Brown Line Station.

The man reportedly entered the woman’s apartment on Sunday at 1:30 a.m., fleeing in a gold-colored sedan, police say.

According to the alert, the suspect is a white Hispanic man, 20-to 25-years-old with brown hair, light complexion and roughly 5-foot 5-inches tall. The man is also said to be between 140-160 pounds, clean-shaven and wearing a blue baseball cap and jeans.

Police are asking residents with any information about the incident to call the Area Central Bureau of Detectives at (312) 747-8380.
