Woman's Dog Recovering After Violent Attack In Lincoln Park

A young dog was attacked by another dog on West Deming Place near the lake, according to a report.

CHICAGO — A 2-year-old border collie-Labrador mix was out for a walk with her owner, when she was violently attacked by another dog last week, ABC 7 Chicago reported. The other dog escaped its leash and went after Sammie in the 400 block of West Deming Place, according to the report.

"All of a sudden I just see this dog running full speed right to her and latched right onto her and just started attacking," Sammie's owner, Michelle Praxmarer, told ABC 7. "It was so crazy. I was frantic. I didn't know what to do because I myself didn't want to get bit."

People who live and work in the area said the dog, which appears to be a pit bull, has been aggressive in the past, according to the report.
