Zella To Close In Lincoln Park

After nearly two decades in the neighborhood, the popular spot announced it's closing its doors.

CHICAGO — Hundreds of fans of the North Side bar Zella went on Facebook to express their dismay Friday after its owners announced that the popular spot is closing in a few weeks. Known for its big outdoor patio and boozy brunches, the bar has grown to be a Lincoln Park mainstay over its 18 years at 1983 N. Clybourn Avenue. The bar announced it will close on Nov. 1.

"It's with a heavy heart and fuzzy memory that we announce that Zella's lease has ended," Zella's post read. "Stop in before we go and help us go out in true Zella fashion."

Dozens of Facebook commenters mentioned they've had many memories at the bar, and plenty of others lamented the "terrible news."
