Apple Fest Takes a Bite out of Fall in Lincoln Square

The annual fall festival ripened up the season Saturday; see how many apples Lincoln Square picked out.

Lincoln Square residents took home more than two tons of apples Saturday at the annual Apple Fest in Giddings Plaza. 

And that's not counting the apples in all of the fall-flavored snacks sold at the event. 

The Chopping Block made 337 apples pies and Dinky Doughnuts sold more than 7,000 fruit-filled treats.

A bounce obstacle course, face-painting and even a family yoga session had families laughing all day. 

Apple Fest—now in its 26th year—is organized by the Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce and officially rings in the fall season for the neighborhood.
