Armed Robberies Reported In Ravenswood, Uptown
In some cases, robbers are engaging victims in conversation before stealing their property, police warned.
CHICAGO — Thieves have been robbing victims in the Ravenswood, Uptown and Sheridan Park neighborhoods, police said in a community alert. The offenders are either approaching the victims from behind or engaging them in conversation, according to the alert.
The thieves then attack the victims and steal their property, police said. In some cases, the offenders were armed with a handgun.

- in the 4500 block of North Ashland on Nov. 21 at about 9:15 p.m.
- in the 1300 block of West Sunnyside on Nov 28 at about 8:15 p.m.
- in the 4600 block of North Ashland on Nov. 28 at about 8 p.m.
- in the 4500 block of North Ravenswood on Dec. 2 between midnight and 2 a.m.
- in the 1100 block of West Wilson on Dec. 10 at around. 2:40 p.m.
